Rat Trap

Fri, 2016-12-02 11:00 - 21:00
Fatbottom

This a one-day exhibition! from 11 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.

The Rat Trap Cultural Foundation is an autonomous cultural house located in Bogotà, Colombia, which functions as a platform for the production of non-institutional art and non-corporate music. After 12 years of organizing cultural events, it materialized as a physical space in May 2012. The project currently includes two screen printing workshops, a recording studio, two rehearsal rooms, thirteen artist studios, a project room and a shop. Its main objective is to defend the creative autonomy and promote the economic sustainability of artistic, social and cultural projects, offering tools and spaces for the development of self-managed productions that allow to make viable practices that historically have depended on state incentives and private funds.

This exhibition is a retrospective of these 5 years of disciplined work in the world of self-publishing. At the show, you'll be to admire as well as to acquire discs, publications and printed art created in an unstable, violent, bureaucratic and repressive context. If you want to know how punk is doing on the other side of the world, we invite you to join us on Friday December 2nd at FatBottom all day.
