In G.A.S, Mateo Rivano makes a set of portraits inspired by street aesthetics of 80's Medellín. We see a series of characters, maybe all dead before they turned twenty, who have been studied through their short video record. Collecting loose scenes of youtube and documentaries of the time, we see in Gonorreas A Sueldo a fragment of the history of Colombia. These pebbles drawn almost in the manner of street portraitists, with strokes and shadows that exaggerate their three-dimensionality, are a mixture of grotesque caricatures while the pencil caresses their faces with some indulgence and understanding.
