Barcelona joins the Girlxcott movement
From January 28 to February 1, 2026, while the Angoulême Festival has been canceled due to the girlxcott promoted by the authors, Barcelona participates in the Interconnected Comic Festivals, a network of free, inclusive and horizontal celebrations that connects France, Belgium and Catalonia.
At the initiative of the collective Girlxcott, these festivals want to put creation, solidarity and respect back at the center of the ninth art, and open spaces to rethink an ethical, fair and non-violent festival.

These festivals are born from the fight against the invisibility of women and gender minorities, and from the need to defend decent conditions for all the people who make comics possible.
Without authors and authors, there are no books. There are no festivals.
